    Learn about your bike setup, suspension, chassis, Brakes, electronic aids, if you have them.
    - Suspension feel and adjustment.
    - There is a lot of time on the bikes.
    - Very small numbers for an in depth look at your bike and your riding style to suit your bike.
    We will help you to understand what your bike is telling you and how to “feel” what is happening while you ride.

    * Motorcycle setup and suspension explanation and demonstration.

    Glen has been in the bike industry all his life with a massive amount of knowledge in all areas. His business Includes custom bike building/ all mechanical needs, ASBK race mechanic / bike setup and builds and tuning.

    Morning Tea/ Coffee and drinks will be provided on the day bottles of water. and some nibbles during the day, Lunch is provided subway please let us know if you have any dietary requirements 


    Requirements for the day
    Your driver's License. Must hold and RE or R Class Licence for this course
    Your motorcycle must be registered and in a RWC Condition, any style of Motorcycle is suitable for this course. No Open Mufflers

    Please have your full riding gear, Helmet, Kevlar Jeans, Jacket, gloves, good quality footwear.

    If you have any questions please ask us, we can arrange gear and motorcycle hire for this course.

    Adventure Off Road and Road Circuit Course Mt.Cotton

    Adventure Riders-Off road and on road course.


    Just $225 (Normally $400) 

    ALL DAY COURSE, Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea Provided


    Thanks to The Ducati Owners Club Of Queensland Inc and the TMR "Ride to Zero Program


    The training will be conducted at the RACQ Mobility Centre of Excellence training facility, 1753-1799 Mt Cotton Road, Cornubia Q 4130. 


    This course will cater for all levels of OFF ROAD & ON ROAD skills for adventure riders. 


    What to expect:


    The course will begin on the dirt in the offroad section for the morning.


    After lunch, we will transition to the full road circuit for the afternoon.



    Participants will enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:   


    Safety gear - choosing correct safety gear, the fitment process, and checks,  


    Pre ride safety - checks, motorcycle ergonomics, including minor and major controls, as well as adjust these accordingly.  


    Suspension - gain an understanding of suspension and how this affects the handling of their motorcycle.  


    Posture and how it affects how the bike feels when riding, slow speed control drills and how to combine brake clutch and throttle controls, with an understanding of how counter steering works. 


    Off Road and on road roadcraft tactics, vision, hazard perception, road positioning, safe cornering lines, line of sight, depth perception and managing speeds before the corner. 

    Creating space from hazards and when to do, lane and edge filter rules and hazard perception. 

    Changing your riding to be able to read the changing conditions, time of the day weather, traffic conditions, urban and rural environments and how to read conditions and tips to do so.  


    Contributing Factors that can increase risk on the road. 


    Attitudes, behavioural Factors, peer pressure, group riding and how to manage yourself, the effects of alcohol, drugs, state of mind, aggressive riding, tired, mood, fatigued, dehydration, cold, riding with a pillion. 


    Cornering 


    Setup, vision, Braking, line selection.  


    Practical exercises- participants will gain a greater understanding of how these concepts transfer to their riding performance on the road and as a result, improve their skills to manage their bike more effectively in different road conditions. 


    Motorcycle ergonomics including front brake levers, rear brake pedal, handlebars, pegs, gear shift, switches, blocks, and headlights. This section may also include physically adjusting these components of the bikes. 

    Suspension education including explanation of suspension, adjustment, and demonstration of different components. Exercise to demonstrate the differences in front suspension, compression and rebound; as well as spring and static sag; rear compression and rebound. This section may also include physically adjusting these components of the bikes.  


     Off Road- Slow riding, brake clutch and throttle control working in harmony together to “Gain control of the motorcycle” Standing up while slow riding on the dirt, processes for Sand riding, water crossing, Hill climbing etc for those looking for something extra 


    Counter steering explained and demonstration. Practical exercise for students- Ride one-handed push / pull exercise. 


     Braking drills- two stage braking and develop brake feel. Practical exercise for students- braking modulation exercise.   


    Suspension education including explanation of suspension, adjustment, and demonstration of different components. Exercise to demonstrate the differences in front suspension, compression and rebound; as well as spring and static sag; rear compression and rebound. This section may also include physically adjusting these components of the bikes.  


     Line selection/ reading the terrain- vision, hazard perception, bike positioning, safe cornering lines, line of sight, depth perception and managing speeds before the corner. Creating space from hazards and when to do so, changing your body position to suit the terrain and to be able to read the changing conditions. 


     

    OFF ROAD TO ON ROAD TRANSITION Practice all the above, the transition from dirt to road and the different techniques required. 


    4.00 pm Course close- opportunity to ask questions to further their knowledge and practical understanding of the information provided today.
